Most reversible leather belts come with a twist or clamp-style buckle that can be removed from the strap.
Carefully pull the leather strap out of the buckle housing. You’ll now see where the leather was folded and clamped or stitched.
Put the belt on and find your ideal length.
🔎 Pro Tip: Leave a bit of extra length in case you want to adjust later.
Using sharp scissors or a utility knife, trim the belt cleanly across the marked line. Make sure the cut is straight for the buckle to reattach securely.
Insert the trimmed end back into the buckle slot. Tighten the screw or clamp to lock it in place. Twist the buckle to check if the reversible mechanism still works smoothly.
Apply a little leather conditioner or edge paint to the trimmed end to prevent fraying and maintain a polished look.
Now that your belt is trimmed to the perfect length, you're ready to enjoy the comfort and confidence of a custom fit. Whether you're wearing it with jeans or formal trousers, a well-fitted reversible leather belt adds the finishing touch to any outfit.
